Junior League Members spent a beautiful October Saturday in Avon volunteering during the Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes! The following letter is from the JLMC event chairwoman, Lill Giordano.
A huge THANK YOU to all our members who worked the registration tables, many who additionally went on to clean up the Registration Tent, help in the Accounting Room, and work the Lunch Tent at the "Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes" on October 11th in Avon.
The weather was picture perfect for this fun October DIAD event, and two of our own members‟ families participated in the actual “Walk” itself, The Hempstead‟s and the Iapiccos.
The Junior League was well represented by: Nancy Barone, Andrea Butash, Bennett Coleman, Courtney Gaul, Liz Hempstead, Debbie Iapicco, Jennifer Loch, Andrea Luker, Mindy Melasky, Debra Murphy, Erin Parks, Heather Schlisserman, Natalie Viggiano.
Many people commented on the ease and efficiency of the registration process, and were impressed by how well we Leaguers worked together.
My husband and I were able to donate many boxes of the leftover sandwiches and bagels from the event to a local Soup Kitchen through one of the Middletown churches, for which they were very grateful.
Hats off to everyone!
