Join us for an evening of yoga and wellness from 7-9 pm to honor Period Poverty Awareness Week.
This is a donation based class with all funds raised going to support efforts to end period poverty in our community.
Research shows that 2 in 5 women, as well as 1 in 4 students, have struggled to purchase enough menstrual products. This lack of a basic necessity can force women to stay home from work or school, depressing their wages as well as micro-economic productivity. It can also force families to choose between the material products they need or food, putting their health in jeopardy.
The Junior League of Monmouth County’s Period Project has provided over 70,000 period products to partner agencies to distribute them to their clients. Basic needs banks report that these products do not sit on their shelves.
Join Allison Scaramuzza of Dragonfly Yoga who will be leading us in a yoga flow and meditation. Please bring your own yoga mat. Light bites and treats will be served afterward.
A donation of $20 will provide a worry-free period for 2 individuals who menstruate.
A donation of $40 will provide 4 individuals who menstruate with worry-free periods.
A donation of $50 or more will support the Period Project’s bulk purchasing of products and delivery supplies.
