Women Making A Difference: 2016 Community Volunteer Award

sponsored by the Junior League of Monmouth County

Purpose

Founded in 1939, The Junior League of Monmouth County, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

The Community Volunteer Award is designed to recognize the many valuable contributions being made by women volunteers in our local community. Additionally, the award is intended to increase awareness of the importance of volunteering. The award recognizes volunteers who give assistance to the community and receive no remuneration for their efforts.

Selection Criteria

  • Description of volunteer's service
  • Impact of service
  • Duration of service
  • Endorsements by staff and other volunteers and those impacted (brief statements)
  • Motivation and leadership skills
  • OPTIONAL: endorsement by an active, sustaining or provisional member of the Junior League of Monmouth County (brief statements).

Please note, no current active, provisional or sustaining members of the Junior League of Monmouth County are eligible for this award.

Presentation of Awards

An awards committee assembled by the Junior League of Monmouth County will review all applications. All nominating organizations and nominees are expected to attend a luncheon on November 4, 2016 at the Shadowbrook, Shrewsbury, NJ where the winner will be announced. The honoree chosen for the award and all other nominees will be honored at the JLMC sponsored event. The award recipient will receive $1,000 for the nominating organization and recognition for her contributions to the community.

Section II

Describe the volunteer service of the individual for which you are making this application. The most significant factor in evaluating the individual is the quality of service. Judges will award the highest score to applications that are complete, clear, succinct, informative, readable, and significant. See the attached Judge’s Score Sheet for selection criteria.
